Just south of Benalla, we have over 50 years of combined breeding experience, from stud cattle to commercial cattle operations in the Alpine high country of Victoria. We aim to breed structurally sound, easy doing cattle under commercial conditions that perform in weight for age, fertility and temperament for every environment.

With decades of breeding cattle between us, we both come from different ends of the beef industry. Pete hails from the hills of Benambra in High Country Victoria , where for 5 generations, the Pendergast/Ross family have owned and operated Omeo Station. Selling top end weaners into the East Gippsland market. Since settling in Warrenbayne in 2012, we have continued to finish and sell weaners for the North East market. Pete’s parent still continue to run Omeo Station today and use exclusively Five Mile bulls for their temperament, fertility and soundness.

This is us. L-R Charlie, Harry, George, Pete and Jess. We all have an active role in running the stud from day to day.

Jess, comes from a stud Angus background, growing up showing and breeding bulls at Kyloh Angus Stud. Through her late teens and early 20’s, she was an Angus Australia Trans-Tasman exchange winner, and Westfarmers /Angus Australia Youth Ambassador and was a part of Angus youth roundup committees and local cattle judging. With a passion for the beef industry and Angus cattle, she began a web and graphic design / marketing apprenticeship, which took her throughout the country photographing and marketing some of the best cattle and cattle breeders in the country.

When the opportunity came to establish our own herd, we chose primarily to breed our own bulls for our own commercial operation and for Omeo Station whilst selling a few selling bulls locally and privately.

In 2026 we are excited to offer our entire run of bulls to the public on sale day and look forward to seeing them perform for you.
